Andrei Panasevich made me love music. I have been playing piano for nine years, but only genuinely enjoyed it for the last five years that I have been taught by Andrei. Oh, it was frustrating at first. He kept challenging me to play pieces ahead of my current RCM level. However, that “push” was just what I needed. When I hit a wrong note, Andrei is able, just by listening, to know where it is and what note it should be. He is always quick to encourage me when I am having trouble. Andrei tells me stories about the music so vivid, that he paints mental pictures of how the songs should make me feel when I play them. Once he told me a two-minute epic tale on why a piece of music should sound like “falling tear drops.” He helps bring my music to life. Andrei began teaching piano almost immediately after immigrating to Canada. His students have grown to love him as their teacher, willingly performing at the many recitals he arranges. His day job is teaching music and other classes to international students. He also plays piano and trumpet for his church. Andrei is an AMAZING teacher!

Introduction of Band Instrument. Choosing the right and suitable instrument for each student.

Assembling of the instruments, Taking care of reeds and mouthpiece. 
Playing firs band arrangements for the Band. 

Still some students want to change instrument. Please understand, that it takes some time until we get another instrument from the Music store. 

Gr 7 and 8

 This two classes are advance. We are able to progress in Standard of Excellence . 
There are some very talented kids in Both Classes. We are going to start Preparation for Christmas concert next week, when problems with instruments will be solved.

WELCOME BACK TO MUSIC IN ST.JUDE'S

HELLO STUDENTS AND PARENTS!

We begin our musical season.  We had a great success last year with Gr 7 & 8 Band. This year we have 4 classes for our Band program. We have brand new instruments for the program. Also, a new instrument will be added to the Band: Baritone. It has a very deep and soft sound.
Kids in SK will enjoy singing, listening and dancing in music class.
Gr 1 to Gr 4 will study Theory of music and play Recorders.
Gr 5 to Gr 8 will be a Band program.

We are planning our first performance for the SJA Christmas concert.


Location of the music class is the same. If you have ANY questions or concerns about the music program, please come and talk to me. I will do my best to help.

 We had a good practise today, 2,5 h of Music. Sound is getting better.
I would like to ask everybody who is taking instruments for practise during march brake, please take a good care of it. Hope students can spend a few minutes a day for playing during the brake.

First Theory of music class for Gr5 & 6.
Did some writhing of music notations.
Treble and Bass Clefs, Notes on the lines and in spaces.
Will continue with Time Value next time.


Gr 7 and 8 are practising on the instruments.
We do have some progress, and I'd like to ask to do some practise at home during the weekend and March brake.

 Gr 3  ( Ms. Bosetti's class).

 Kids are doing really good on Recorders.  Au Clair de la Lune is Finished. Jihoo and Klara were the best.
Feb 19.

Gr7 & Gr8  Had music class together today. It was impressive to see ( and of course to hear) 35 people playing together. We even got first 8 bars of ' JINGE BELLS'  (I know that Christmas time over , but...) as a Band arrangement.
Most of students are set with the instruments they have chosen. If some are still want to change, please do it NOW.))
